In the beginning was the Word. We haven't stopped talking since! Maybe if we all shut up, most of our problems would go away--? The answer is clear. To paraphrase Martha Stewart, talk is a very good thing. It's About Women can't get enough! Naturally, there's an IF attached. As in, IF the words are helpful. At least intended that way. For helpful, read kind, understanding and understandable. Takes thought, yes. Sometimes it takes research. Practice! If we are using words to inform, they must show respect for the learner. Questions should be polite, and answers. Honesty is important, but coat it with something healthy. [No saccharine, please.] Obviously, there are times when frank equals cruel. Saying a word. Empathetic speakers choose words and timing with care. Filling air or beating drums is seldom their object. Listening is. We promise you that It's About Women will use words to inform, encourage, entertain, and enlighten. Good thing, isn't it, Martha?
"One" last word. Most of us grew up on "Words can never harm you." Ha! Sticks and stones rarely kill. Words spoken out of hate, ignorance, lack of respect and other negatives wreak havoc with body and soul. Children, especially, need "Good!"
Enough words. We came to listen. . .er, um, too.
