Why It's About Women? Aren't there already an abundance of women-oriented sites available online? What's different about It's About Women? Whose idea was this anyway?
There are many great women-oriented sites on the Internet. But, It's About Women is not just another women-oriented site. It's your site—with plenty of room for your views as well as a means to share what you are passionate about or even sell your wares. It's About Women is all about you, each and every one of you wonderful women out there. Here you have freedom to be you, say what you mean, and share your thoughts or special talents with other women. Support, diversity, acceptance, compassion, education—these are the cornerstones of It's About Women.
It's About Women is dedicated to the celebration of womanhood. It is our hope that this site will foster communication among women with different lifestyles who come from different countries, are of different races and religions, and have different philosophies. We hope women will unleash their creativity, express their emotions, and share their talents and successes. We'd like you to think of It's About Women as a sounding board for problems and resolutions, concerns, and complaints—and feel safe doing so. We believe that sharing the many aspects of being a woman, our joys and heartbreaks, our dreams, successes, and even failures, with other women will strengthen our innate bond and nurture our need to be heard, accepted, and respected.

A group of women is the creative force behind It's About Women. For a number of years, Barbara Quanbeck has envisioned the creation of a community for women, a haven where the celebration of womanhood is at full bore. As the vision grew and blossomed over the last several years, decisions were made on how to make the dream a reality. With the aid of Barbara's wonderful friends, including Janet Buck, Phyllis Jean Green, Rhiannon West (pen name), Becky Barbour, Sonia Pressman Fuentes, and Lynn Guster, all amazing women in their own ways, the various bits and pieces of the site have been glued together into the fulfillment of a dream. You'll see the different personalities come through in the intros to the various categories. Thanks to all who have pitched in and helped It's About Women become a reality.
